A single license is either "per-user" or "per-computer", so:
If you have multiple computers and multiple users, please purchase an additional license per-computer or per-user, whichever is fewer.
A purchased license includes all point updates to the current major version of the software. For example, a license for Divvy 1.x will include all bug fixes and updates up until version 2.
Future major versions will require an upgrade fee (likely half the cost of a new license).
Keep in mind that your license will never expire, you won't be forced to upgrade.

Yes you can. During the last step of the checkout process, you are able to pick the name and email address for the license. The purchase receipt is sent to the billing email address while the license is sent to the license email address, so the recipient of a gift license will not see what you paid for it.

When you purchase from the Mac App Store, you don't receive a license. Simply installing from the App Store gives you a fully licensed version.
